RCGA VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR - 2007

Linda Ball receives RCGA Volunteer Recognition Award for the month of July 2007 and now has been selected as the RCGA VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR - 2007. Past Zone 5 recipients of this award are Kathy White (AR) 2003; Barbara Rainey (GV) 2005; Gayle Fisher (PI) 2006. We always knew we had great volunteers in the Zone.

BCGA - Club/Zone Volunteer - Zone 5

Sheila joined Royal Colwood in 1957 and has served as a volunteer in many capacities during her 50 years of membership; 3 years on the Women's Executive as Secretary, Vice-Captain and as Captain in 1966, and some years later as Business Women's Captain (1980 and 1981). In 2004, Sheila was recognized for her many contributions to Royal Colwood with the prestigious distinction of Life Member.

From 1969 to 1972, Sheila served on the Zone 5 (formerly District 1) Women's Executive; two years as Vice Chair and two years as the Chair. During this period, Sheila also took on the Chair of the Canadian Junior Girls Tournament hosted by Royal Colwood in 1971. She put together a strong committee of volunteers from the local Clubs and the tournament was very successful, realizing a profit of $1,000 which was used for clinics for Junior Girls.
